 U14 Football

Following our win over An Gaeltacht on Saturday March 23rd our U14 footballers played a further three games in just eight days. Last Tuesday we hosted Clashmore in Tallow and having started brightly we were 3 points behind at halftime. In the second half Clashmore added 3 points and a controversial goal which was deemed to have crossed the line. To our credit we fought back with goals from Darragh Buckley and Robbie Geary but time ran out as we tried to get that winning goal as we lost by a 2 point margin. On Thursday evening we travelled to Dungarvan to play The Nire knowing that a win would put us into the semi-finals. Playing with the wind we got a great start with early goals from Robbie Geary and Jack Murphy settling the team. However The Nire fought back in the second half as they were aided by the strong wind, but we held out to deservedly win by 4-04 to 2-02. This result ensured we faced Clashmore in the Western Semi-Final last Sunday morning with the wet and cold conditions making the game difficult for both teams. Unfortunately in this game we were missing some of our established players who had played in the previous games and playing against the strong wind in the first half we were 1-06 to 1-00 down at half time, with our goal coming from the boot of Charlie Murphy. Playing with the wind in the second half we found scores difficult to come by and a physically stronger and better Clashmore side won comfortably on a 3-06 to 1-01 score line. We now turn our attention to the hurling championship which begins in mid April.

U12 Hurling

Our U12 hurlers travelled to Aglish last Friday evening to play St Olivers in the U12 Go Games League and after a very close and high scoring game we narrowly won by a 2 point margin. In our next game we host Naomh Brid on Friday April 12th.

U16 Hurling

Our U16 Hurlers began their Championship last Monday evening where we host De la Salle in Knockanore and after a tight game we won on a 1-10 to 2-05 score line. Next Monday we make the long trip to play Passage in our next game in the league section.

U11 Town & Country League

Our U11 travel to Youghal this Friday evening to play Youghal in the Town & Country League with a 6.30pm throw in.
