U16 Hurling
Our U16 Hurlers played their County Quarter Final versus Dunhill Fenor last Sunday in horrendous conditions in Bushy Park. We qualified for this Quarter Final as a result of winning our last league game on April 25th, almost 6 months ago. In the first half we faced into the driving wind and rain. Aided by the elements Dunhill settled well and built up a commanding 10 point lead at half-time. However on the turnover we improved and a goal from Mike O’Neill reduced the deficit to 5 points entering the final quarter. However a goal from Dunhill took the sting out of our comeback and they went on to record a 4-8 to 1-11 victory. We wish Dunhill the best in their semi-final in the coming weeks. It is a pity that this championship is being played in such conditions so late in the year. Similar to the situation we faced with our U14’s earlier this year it is difficult to prepare teams and keep young players motivated when we have a situation whereby we played no competitive game for over 26 weeks.

U11 Floodlit Football
Our U11 Footballers play in a Floodlit Football Blitz organised by the Western Rural Development Committee next Tuesday evening November 1st. This blitz will be played on a league basis. Cois Bhride will play games versus Clashmore, Ardmore and Ballyduff Upper. Players will be informed of the arrangements by text.

U6-U12 Training
We have our final Training Session for 2011 this Friday evening from7pm-8pm in Tallow GAA Pitch for all players from U6-U12. The coaches and players will then have a well earned break for a few weeks before resuming in the New Year. Our thanks to all the coaches who helped out during the year and to the parents and players for their support. Thanks also to our excellent Secretary, Elaine who coordinated coaches for these sessions every week.

Child Welfare Course
A number of our coaches attended a Child Welfare Course organized by Waterford Coaching & Development last Wednesday evening in Lismore. The course covered all aspects of child welfare and was very interesting and informative. Our thanks to the coaches that attended and to Eoin Bhreathnach and Michelle Power for co-coordinating the course.

U14 Wall Ball Competition.
The U14 Western and County Finals of the Wall Ball Competition are scheduled for next week, We are holding our club trials this Thursday October 27th @ 7.15pm in the Ball Wall at Tallow GAA Pitch for any players up to the age. Players will be informed of the rules by text.

Blackwater Community School
Well done to the Cois Bhride players on the Blackwater CS Dean Ryan Team which defeated Midleton CBS on a 2-14 to 1-7 score line recently. They now face De la Salle in the semi-final on November 9th. With Dungarvan CBS in the other semi-final, it is a fantastic achievement to have three Waterford teams in the semi-finals of the Dean Ryan.
