Club Notes - Wk May 14th 2012

Under 7 – Clubs youngest team!!

They  played Lismore in a friendly match last Friday evening on the astroturf pitch. The game finished in a draw and was enjoyed by both teams.

Minor Football

Our Minor Footballers play Ferrybank this evening (Wednesday) in the County Sem-Final in Leamybrien. We had a narrow victory a few weeks ago against the same opposition in the league section, so its expected that there will be very little between the teams.

If we progress to the County Final v St Mary's, it is scheduled for 2.30pm this Saturday at an Eastern venue.

Croke Park Day

Croke Park Activity Day for the U12s has been confirmed for Monday August 13th. More information on the itinery for the day will follow closer to the time.

Under 16 County Football

  Cois Bhride 6-12 St Saviours 1-5

We ran out comfortable winners of our third game in the county league last Tuesday in Tallow. Playing with the wind in the first half our lads started well and played some lovely football and ran up a good score of 2-8 to 0-2 by half time. The intensity we played with never dropped in the second half and added a further 4-4 to our score line. After 3 games we top our group with our final game in the league section against Ardmore to come and win here would put us straight in to the semi-final

 Ardmore 1-7 Cois Bhride

We ran out comfortable winners of our fourth and final game in the county league last Monday in Ardmore. Playing with the gale force wind in the first half our lads were 3-5 to 03 up at the break. In the second half our backs were to the wall on numerous occasions but we broke well and added another 3-2 against the wind. We have now topped our group, which means we go straight into the semi final to be played on Monday the 28th of May.

Under 14 Hurling & Football Report:

The U14's were beaten 2-11 to 1-3 by Abbeyside also in the U14 Hurling Western Championship. They were defeated and that it was a knock-out Championship.

Also the U14 Footballers are scheduled to play An Gaeltacht in a playoff this Wednesday in the U14 Football Championship. 

 Sympathy

The club  would like to extend its deepest symathy to Ann Buckley& family of  Tallow on the recent death of her father and grandfather.  Anne – Alan and Billy have all played an active role in Cois Bhríde for many years. May he rest in peace.
