U-16 County A Championship

 Cois Bhride 3-12   Roanmore 2-08

We have qualified for the semi-final of the County Under 16 Championship where we will meet Ballygunner after a hard fought victory over Roanmore in Dungarvan GAA Grounds last Sunday morning. After playing against the wind in the first half we went in level at half time 2-4 to 1-7. In the second half, aided by the strong wind we struggled to finish off the game as we had the majority of possession. It took a goal two minutes from time seal the victory for us and see us safely into the semi-final.

Panel. Davie Tobin, Colm Roche, Kelvyn O Farrell, Jake Beecher, Jack Tobin, William Hogan, Tom Harker, Adam Crawford (capt), Ryan Grey, Jordan Henley, Eddie Hynes, Jake Neville, Alan Buckley, Padraig Roche, John Paul Lucey, Cathal Geary, Liam Smith, Dylan Mangan, Darragh Mulcahy, Eoin O’Reilly Paul O’Mahony and Matty Schiebelreiter.

Best Wishes

We wish a speedy recovery to Jordan Henley, Matty Schiebelreiter and Kelvyn O’Farrell who all sustained serious injuries in the game last Sunday morning.

Roanmore Charity Blitz

Our U8 team travelled to Waterford last Saturday for the Roamore Charity Blitz. This blitz is organised each year by the Roanmore club and sees 140 teams play in five venues during the day. This year we had a late start with our first game versus Portlaw throwing in at 4pm. We also faced some stiff opposition from Kilkenny in the form of Graigue/Ballycallan and Clara. However on the day the lads acquitted themselves very well, winning two of their games and narrowly losing their third game. In all they thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Our thanks to all the parents who travelled for their support.

U10 Hurling

Our Under 10 hurlers had a busy couple of weeks. They played Dungarvan last Wednesday fortnight in Go Games. This was a very competitive game between two evenly matched teams. The lads competed strongly despite Dungarvan having physical advantage and deservedly at the end won by a margin of four points. As a reward for their efforts they were treated at McDonalds on the way home!

Next up was the Ballyduff U10 Hurling Blitz with Cois Bhride taking part with Castlelyons, St Catherines and Ballyduff. In our first game we defeated St Catherines by a goal, but then lost to Ballyduff by two goals. Our final game was against Castlelyons. The lads played some brilliant hurling and it took a brilliant save in the final minute by the Castlelyons goalkeeper from Padraig Hynes to deny Cois Bhride a victory and a place in the final. The lads thoroughly enjoyed the day. We extend our gratitude to Ballyduff for the invitation to their, as always well organised blitz and for the refreshments on the day.

U11 Football

Our Under 11 footballers also had a very busy couple of weeks, out every second Friday night for the last two months. Last Friday we travelled to Bushy Park along with Dungarvan, Rathgormack and Brickey Rangers. We played against Rathgormack and Brickey Rangers and despite losing both games the lads got some excellent scores  and played some skilful football.

Panel:  Tom Dalton, Eoin Hurley, Eoin Linnehan, Mark Dalton, Padraig Hynes, Josh Geary, Dylan Power, Richard Forbes, Michael Condon, William Cunningham, David Collins, Kevin Mulcahy

Minor Hurling

Our Minor Hurlers have qualified for the County Semi-Final where we will face Portlaw. We are currently awaiting confirmation of a date for the fixture.

U12 Football

This Friday evening Cois Bhride host the U12 Football Go Games @ 6.30pm in Tallow. All players to be at the pitch for 6.15pm.

National School Presentation

Last Monday afternoon Cois Bhride presented the Sports Equipment which the club received recently from Independent Newspapers to both Knockanore and Tallow National Schools. Cois Bhride would like to thank all its members who collected tokens from the newspapers, which was not an easy task, especially in such a short timeframe. Cois Bhride also presented a cheque to both schools for the purchase of sports equipment which will help develop and promote sport in both schools.

Congratulations

Congratulations to all the Cois Bhride players who received their Junior Cert results recently.

Training

Training for our U7/U8 team continues this Friday evening in Tallow GAA Pitch @ 7pm.
