Cois Bhride GAA Notes - Sponsored by Cunningham's Hardware,  Tallow:

U11 Football Town & Country League

Our U11 Footballers played out a very exciting game away to Stradbally last Friday evening. We started very well and had a four point advantage within minutes as Mark Dalton opening the scoring with an early goal, which was soon followed by a Padraig Hynes point. However at the other end Stradbally soon settled and we needed some great saves from Cathal Hunt to keep us ahead. Stradbally finished the first half stronger and by half time only two points separated the teams. The second half turned out to be very even with some excellent scores at both ends, goals from Padraig Hynes and Kevin Mulcahy and two excellent points from Jake Chambers saw Cois Bhride running out winners on a score line of 3-10 to 5-02. Special mention to Shane Martin, Ian Martin and Darragh Spillane, who worked tirelessly all night and contributed hugely to what was a very hard fought win. We now face St Olivers away this evening (Wednesday) in our final game of the league. A win here would ensure that we finish the league top of the table.

Scorers: Padraig Hynes (1-03) Mark Dalton (1-02) Kevin Mulcahy (1-00) Tom Dalton (0-03) Jake Chambers (0-02)

Team: Cathal Hunt, Darragh Spillane, Eoin Hurley, Cian Hurley, Mark Dalton, Jake Chambers,  Padraig Hynes, Ian Martin, Kevin Mulcahy, Shane Martin, Tom Dalton,

U12 Go Games Football League

We played our last match in the U12 Go Games League at home under lights against Clashmore last Wednesday night.  Despite being the better team for most of the game, two late goals in the final quarter saw Clashmore run out winners on a three point margin. Well done to the lads in this competition who acquitted themselves very well with 3 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats.

Team: Cathal Hunt, Sean Henley, Eoin Hurley, Jake Chambers, Richard Forbes, Ciaran McCarthy, Padraig Hynes, Mark Dalton, Dean Beecher, William Cunningham, Josh Geary, Tom Dalton, Mike Condon, Dylan Power.

 U13 Football Championship

Our U13 Footballers have reached the semi-final of the Western U13 Football Championship having received a walkover from Clashmore in our final game of the league section of the competition. We now await news on our opponents, with the match likely to be fixed next weekend.

 Shamrock Ladies - Champions Again

Well done once again to the Shamrocks U14 Ladies Football Team who defeated St Olivers in the U14 County Final last Sunday in Fraher Field. This was the second County Championship won by the girls within a week and is a great achievement considering the club has only begun competing in juvenile competition this year.
