Ballyduff Indoor Hurling Blitz

The Cois Bhride U9 hurlers played an indoor blitz in Ballyduff last Saturday morning. The lads played the hosts in their first game and ran out 4-2 winners. Next up we faced Cappoquin and a great performance powered the boys to a 6-0 win.  Naomh Brid were the opposition for the next game and after a very close and exciting match the lads slipped to a 1-0 defeat with the Naomh Brid keeper proving impossible to beat. After a well earned rest the lads faced Lismore in their final game and after 2 quick goals the team settled to run out 6-1 winners. Stephen Roche had fine games in goal, making numerous saves throughout. The back line of Ethan Scott and Shane Cronin proved very strong breaking up a lot of play and conceding only 4 goals. Shane Martin and Jake O’Brien dominated the midfield and contributed a good number of goals to their team. The forward line of Darragh Spillane, Ian Martin and Cian O’Brien proved a handful for each team they met and all scored for their team. Well done boys! Next Saturday morning we return to Ballyduff to play in a U9 Indoor Football Blitz.

U14 Football

Unfortunately our U14 Football Match versus The Nire was cancelled last Sunday due to a bereavement in The Nire club. This Sunday (February 24th) we are at home to St Olivers in the U14 Football Championship with a 10.30am throw in.

It’s that time of year again when we appeal to all of our club members to pay their Annual Membership. This is especially important for all club players as you will not be insured on the playing field if you are not a fully paid up member. The membership fee has not changed for the last few years, and for 2013 Family Membership is just €20 and €10 for a player. Membership Forms will be available at Indoor Training in Knockanore and at the Winter League in Tallow this Friday evening.
