Cois Bhríde Notes March 4th

Winter League - Waterford beat Tipperary!-
What a headline!! Well it's our headline - and our Cois Bhríde Winter league!! This was the conclusion of the league held over the past few weeks for the u9 to u12 age group - and the winners were presented with the Eamon de Paór Shield by Dan Shanahan.  Cork won the Plate league - and again presentations were made by Dan - it was an enjoyable evening - Dan gave of his time as always to the younger kids - and tea and refreshements were also served.
U13 County Champions 2011 - Cois Bhríde:
A presentation of the 2011 u13 Western and County medals was also made last Friday night - again presented by Dan Shanahan.  What a great performance this team gave last September in Walsh Park when they defeated Passage by a single point.  And so to : Dean Beecher, Cian Ryan, Robbie Geary, Tom Roche, Billy Hynes, Cathal Geary, Eoin McGrath, Dylan Mangan, Darragh Mulcahy, Ian Beecher, Conor McCarthy, Shane Ryan, Edward O'Neill, Darragh Buckley, Liam Hurley, Billy Henley, Adam Feeey, John Walsh, Ivan O'Neill and Ciaran Crawford - we say well done Boys - ye did the club proud.( We will have pictures of the winning team up in the Photo Gallery shortly)
U14 Western Football - Division 2
Cois Bhríde were to play Brickey Rangers last Sunday morning in this league - but unfortunately due to lack of numbers - Cois Bhríde failed to field a team.  It is important please that all players and parents text the selectors in time and let them know if players are unavailable on the day.
u13 Western Football - Division 1:
Home game this weekend in Tallow against An Gaeltacht - all players to be at the pitch in Tallow by 11am please.
Croke Park - here we come!
Well at least our u12 team will travel to a Croke Park Activity Day durning the Easter Holidays in April.  The team will play a blitz in Croke Park - get a tour of the great stadium etc - confirmation of the date is awaited and more details will follow in the coming weeks.
U10 Hurling:
Our u10's travelled to Ballyduff last Saturday to take part in the indoor Hurling Tournament and competed against Lismore, Cappoquin, Ballyduff, St Olivers and Castlelyons. Our 1st game we were defeated by Ballyduff - but Tom Dalton and Josh Geary got great goals.  We defeated St Olivers on a score line of 2-1 - the goals coming from Padraig Hynes and Eoin Lenihan.  We still qualifed thou as runners up of group 1 to take on Lismore in the Semi Final.  This match was a terrific game full of passion commitment and skill. We won this - and went into the final then against Ballyduff.  This was a close encounter but Cois Bhríde emerged victorious on a score line of 4 goals to 3 - the goal scorers for Cois Bhríde in this game - Mark Dalton, David Collis, Eoin Leihan and Josh Geary.  Cois Bhríde last won the cup in 2005 - and Eoin Lenihan the Captain was presented with it for 2012. So well done to:

u 8 Team : Our youngest team will travel to Ballyduff on this coming Friday evening for a friendly game .
Football Training: Will commence for all u9 to u12 players on the Astraturf in Tallow from 7pm to 8pm.
Attention: All Coaches ad Officers of Cois Bhríde
Coaching and Development will be holding their first visit of the Munster Nursery Development programme with Cois Bhríde on Wed March 14th @ 7pm in Tallow GAA Clubhouse.  All officers and coaches with Cois Bhríde will be required to attend this course.
