Cois Bhride GAA Notes - Sponsored by Cunningham's Hardware, Tallow

U12 Condon Shield

Last Sunday morning Cois Bhride played Cappoquin in the annual Michael Condon Memorial Tournament in Tallow. The game was played in splendid sunshine, albeit in heavy underfoot conditions from the rain in the previous days. Even though the conditions made hurling difficult the game was thoroughly enjoyable and highly competitive. It was only in the closing minutes that Cois Bhride pulled away in the end to run out winners on a score line of 4:08 to 1:02. The Cois Bhride goals were scored by Padraig Hynes, William Cunningham, Ciaran McCarthy and Cathal Hunt. All players were presented with a sliotar, with the winning team also receiving the Condon Shield and a set of medals. The Shield was presented on behalf of the Condon family by Mike Condon to his son Michael, captain of the Cois Bhride team. A big thanks to the Condon family for their continuous sponsorship of this tournament. Thanks also to the referee on the day Brian McCarthy, and to Cappoquin for playing their part in what was an excellent morning’s hurling.

Team: Dean Beecher, Eoin Hurley, Sean Henley, Dylan Power, Mark Dalton, Ciaran McCarthy, William Cunningham, Padraig Hynes, Josh Geary, Tom Dalton, Cathal Hunt, Eoghan Lenihan, Mike Condon.

 Western U16 Hurling Championship

We received a walkover from Abbeyside in the delayed Western U16 Division 1 Hurling Championship which had initially been fixed for Saturday next, November 9th. The Board is now planning on playing the Western Final v Cappoquin on Saturday. The time and venue is yet to be confirmed.

 U7 - U9 Training

Our younger teams finished their Friday evening training sessions in the Astroturf pitch last week after a long season. A big thanks to all the coaches, players and parents for their attendance each Friday evening. They deserve a rest over the Winter months, before resuming in the new year!
