Cois Bhríde Notes Oct2nd2012

posted 10 Oct 2012, 11:49 by elaine ahearne

Our under 10 hurlers travelled to Ballynoe last Saturday to take part in a Blitz hosted by St Catherines. with 4 teams taking part, Castlelyons, St Catherines Kilworth and ourselves. Our first game was gainst Castlelyons which we won on a scoreline of 1.6 to 1.1 with our goal coming from the stick of Padraig Hynes Next up was Kilworth, which turned out to be our most difficult game. It took some brillant saves from Tom Dalton, our goalkeeper and Captain on the day and a goal from Kevin Mulcahy in the last minute to ensure victory for Cois Bhride on a score line of 2.4 to 2.1. Cois Bhrides other goal was scored by Padraig Hynes. A win in our last game against the host team would ensure outright victory and the lads delivered on a score line of 2.6 to 1.1 with both goals scored by Padraig Hynes. The lads really enjoyed their mornings hurling and showed great determination and skill in winning. Player of tournament was Padraig Hynes.

We extend our gratitude to St Catherines for the invitation and refreshments on the day.

Team: Tom Dalton, Eoin Hurley, Eoin Linnehan, Rebecca, Mark Dalton, Padraig Hynes, Josh Geary, Cathal Hunt, Cian Hurley, David Collins, Kevin Mulcahy
