Cois Bhride GAA Notes - Sponsored by Cunningham's Hardware, Tallow

Our AGM has been fixed for Friday February 1st at 8.30pm in the KGK Hall, Knockanore. This is an important meeting for the club as in recent years we are finding it more difficult to recruit volunteers and mentors to assist with the running of the teams/club. This unfortunately is affecting the playing standards, as in 2013 (for the first time ever) all our teams from U10 – U14 will be entered in Division 2 in both hurling and football. We have also unfortunately been forced to withdraw our U14 hurling team from this year’s Feile na nGael competition. Unfortunately if we cannot get coaches/mentors to get involved with teams this trend will continue and will be particularly felt at adult level in the coming years.

Scor na nOg

Best of luck to Cois Bhride's Mark Stewart, Ivan O'Neill, Liam Motherway, Ciaran Hunt, Jack Sliney, Oisin Ormonde, Kieran Crawford and Diarmuid Costelloe who will be representing Waterford in the Munster Final of Scor na nOg this Sunday in Mallow. The lads having recently won the County Final and Munster Semi-Final for their novelty act “Doctor Hypno” are just one of two acts from Waterford that qualified for the Munster Finals. Best wishes also to the other act the O’Keeffe brothers from Lismore who will be performing in the traditional music section.

Shamrocks Ladies Football

Just a reminder that the Shamrocks Ladies Football Club have recently formed an underage structure for any girls who may be interested in playing gaelic football. Training has started already for the season ahead and continues this Saturday morning in Knockanore.

U8/U9 Indoor Hurling & Football

The year begins on February 2nd for our U8s who will play Lismore, Cappoquin, Naomh Brid and Ballyduff Upper in Indoor Hurling in Ballyduff. The following week the U8s will play football before it’s the turn of the U9s on February 16th when they will travel to Ballyduff to play two weeks of hurling and football. The games will start each Saturday morning at 10.30am.
